So I use my air con for a couple of hours on Friday and what happens?
The worst cold I've ever had! No joke. I was sent home from school on Monday after 2 of my 4 classes, then made to stay home on Tuesday which meant I wallowed in self pity all day (I'm good at that), then I assured my supervisor I was fine for school today and I did manage to make it through all my classes today (just) but was sent home early by the principal.
I've spent the last 6 hours curled up in bed trying to breathe - only not too heavily because that makes my head pound.
I still have a fever and whenever I blow my nose my head throbs and my neck feels like it is going to break. I swear this is the worst cold I have ever had.
On the bright side, at least my will is up to date. Good news for mum and dad, right?

Giving in
So Japan is coming into summer now and it is going to get hot. And humid. And horrible.
We are already in the mid twenties (even though it poured with rain all day yesterday) and I've been trying to avoid using my air con for as long as possible.
Today when I got home my apartment felt like this:
I gave in and have spent the last 30 minutes basking in the coolness. The only problem is I can no longer leave my apartment because it is too hot outside. Bugger.

THE trip
So, it finally happened. Mum and Dad actually made it to Japan. I didn't tell them but it actually snowed in Tokyo the day before they arrived. I had told them to pack for early spring. Oops.
Here they are outside a temple in my "hometown". The weather wasn't that great, so we had the place almost entirely to ourselves, which was pretty cool.
After seeing a bit of where I live, we headed up to Hiroshima. Dad took all the photos there so I don't have any. They did see the Hiroshima Castle and the Peace Park. And then it poured with rain. Typical.
From Hiroshima we made our way up to Kyoto and did more culture-y stuff. This is kinkakuji (the Golden Temple). I made dad push me around in a wheelchair because my knee was the size of a small balloon by that point. And I got a kick out of relaxing while he did all the work. :)
Then on to Tokyo and shopping. And Disneyland. Woot!
Where Dad assaulted one of the card soldiers from Alice in Wonderland. Can't take him anywhere.
All in all it was a pretty good trip. The weather didn't really help, but we saw a bit of Japan, ate lots of different food - sorry about the spicy stuff, Dad.
My knee wasn't in the best condition afterwards, but it was worth it. Can't wait to come home now - only a year and a half to go.
