photography for beginners

So in Japan the fireflies come out for about a week, go into a mating frenzy then all die. It is something Japanese people like to watch, usually when they are on a date. Shak, Mash and I thought it would be a good idea, so we drove out to a popular spot and watched the pretty insects having sex for a while. We also discovered the impossibility of photographing the damn things. See exhibit A:


Yes, that IS a firefly! I have about 7 pitch black photos to compare it to.

After that, we went to a park where I faced my fear of slides (thanks, Dad) and made it down this puppy:

Shak was amused.


And believe it or not, we had not been drinking.
